Age As A Factor In Social Security Disability

The Social Security Act says that age must be considered in determining whether a person is disabled. The chart below shows the importance of age when it comes to disability. Unfortunately, health tends to decline as we age. Also, our ability to cope with illness declines as we age. Younger disability claimants don’t like it but older ones do.
